Discourse Analysis discusses the various components of CDA. This is not an essay on the "methodology" of CDA but a prototype of a discourse analysis that focuses comparatively on the narrative structures of various story tellings.
The Tortoise and the Hare examines the narrative structures of analogous tellings of the Aesop fable by comparing them to the oldest prototype of the tale.
WII Propaganda Films is a confirmation of Bassinger's argument that a genre, the Combat Film, was created during WWII to stir support for the war and that the genre continues well into the 1950s. The analysis shows a common narrative structure whose prototype is the film, Bataan.
Everything is Illuminated is a CDA of inter-cultural communication. It demonstrates the ways that the two main figures in the film are involved in narrative transpositions by adopting each other's discourse.
Isiah Thomas – Anucha Browne Sanders Sexual Harassment Trial is a detailed CDA of the news stories in five New York papers of one day in the trial. It studies how each reporter builds a different "text-world" (or story world) to represent the events of the trial.
